World News - The Federal appeals court rejected US President Donald Trump's suit to revive a federal lawsuit that could delay Joe Biden's victory in the state of Pennsylvania.
Three federal appeals court judges unanimously said Trump's campaign arguments for re-election were unsupported by evidence.
"The accusation of being unfair is serious. Calling an election unfair does not mean that it is," wrote Judge Stephanos Bibas, speaking on behalf of the panel of judges, quoted by CNN, Friday (27/11).
"The indictment requires specific accusations as well as evidence. We do not have both here," he added.
"But chemistry cannot turn lead into gold," the court said, quipping the unsubstantiated allegations. In appealing to lower court rulings, according to the judge, Trump also claimed discrimination.
This is the umpteenth time Trump has lost in courts across the country over allegations of fraud and other violations in the US presidential election.
Even so, Trump remains of the view that Biden's victory is invalid.
"As long as you know, this election is full of fraud," he said, to reporters, Thursday (26/11).
The judge in the case replied that there were no precise claims about fraud. There are only technical problems in overseeing the tally of votes. Last week, a Pennsylvania state court rejected Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani arguments that the millions of votes in the state should be removed for fraud.
On Tuesday (24/11), Pennsylvania officially declared Biden's victory. Trump's campaign team then appealed to federal court to freeze the win.
But the appeals court said the Trump campaign had no important grounds for debate.
With Biden's almost inviolable national advantage, the court indicated that another appeal, even to the US Supreme Court, would be unsuccessful. "The charges are vague and self-conclusive," the judge said.
However, Jenna Ellis, a Trump campaign lawyer who worked with Giuliani, insisted they would file an appeal.
"Justice machine activists in Pennsylvania continue to cover up charges of massive fraud. Head to SCOTUS!" he said, referring to the US Supreme Court.
The US Supreme Court itself is currently under the spotlight regarding the composition of judges who gravitate towards conservative circles, which are based on the Republican Party, after the entry of Amy Coney Barret, who is Trump's chosen Supreme Court Justice.
